Allocator

One strategy. Deployed uniformly across every managed account. Simultaneously.
Allocator is a new module on EXANTE Prime for asset managers who run the same portfolio across multiple accounts.

The problem

Managing identical strategies across 10, 15, 20 accounts without a dedicated tool means doing the same work repeatedly and hoping nothing drifts.

Small discrepancies compound. Rebalancing becomes a project. A decision that should take minutes takes hours.

The solution
Allocator is a multi-account portfolio management tool built into the EXANTE desktop platform.
Build your strategy once. Set the accounts it applies to. Allocator handles allocation, order sizing and execution across accounts in a single action.

Key capabilities
With Allocator you can:
Manage multiple accounts under one strategy
Build portfolios with up to multiple assets
Allocate by percentage of portfolio or fixed quantity
Rebalance all linked accounts in one action
Save unlimited draft strategies
Why it matters
When allocation is consistent, your clients’ positions are designed to reflect your intent, mitigating the delays of manual execution.
Adjust an allocation once and every linked account updates accordingly. Calculations are automated to streamline the workflow, scaled to each account’s investment size.

Executing a strategy across multiple accounts one-by-one isn't a workflow, it’s a source of errors. Allocator is designed to significantly reduce that risk. It’s a clean way to apply a strategy consistently across accounts, helping you scale efficiently.

How it works in practice

Step 1: Create an Asset Model
An Asset Model defines your strategy. It lists assets and their target allocation — either as a percentage of the portfolio or as a fixed quantity.

  • Go to Setup → Asset Model
  • Add instruments via drag and drop
  • Choose allocation type (% or quantity)
  • Set parameters per instrument
  • Save model

Allocator automatically calculates the exact position sizes for each account based on the investment amount you've set, then executes across all of them together.
Step 2: Assign your Account Set
An Account Set defines which managed accounts your strategy applies to.

  • Go to Setup → Account Set
  • Select accounts
  • Set investment size per account — either as a percentage of free balance or a fixed amount
  • Save
Step 3: Order placement
Deploy your strategy

  • Go to Setup → Order Placement
  • Select your Asset Model and Account Set
  • Review calculated orders in the pivot table
  • Confirm execution
Monitoring: Track everything in one place
The Allocator summary table shows active orders, positions, P&L and account values.

Order status at a glance:
  • Green: filled
  • Blue: active or partially filled
  • Red: rejected or cancelled — hover to see which assets were affected
Rebalancing: Adjust your strategy at any time
  • Select your model and click Rebalance
  • Update allocations or add and remove assets
  • Execute — all linked accounts update together

Note: avoid changes to the Account Set during rebalancing. It can create asymmetrical allocation and complicate future rebalances.
Rules and limitations
Existing positions in an account will be included or closed during rebalancing — they can’t be ignored
Each Asset Model links to one Account Set only. To reuse a model for different clients, duplicate it and ensure no accounts overlap between the two sets
Avoid editing positions manually via the standard Order module, as this can disrupt allocation and cause errors in future rebalances
